Following the chemical tank emergency at GKN Aerospace in Garden Grove, residents have filed suit alleging the company failed to properly address known safety risks before the incident forced widespread evacuations. The lawsuit claims affected residents suffered disruption, fear, evacuation-related expenses, and other losses after officials warned of a potential explosion or chemical release. Speaking with KTLA, attorney Butch Wagner said the issue was not simply an accident, stating “The company knew about these dangers and really didn’t act on it. Employees complained about these issues that would lead to either an explosion or a leak, such as the one that caused the evacuation.”
