CALIFORNIA – In a press release, PG&E Spokesperson Paul Moreno announced that PG&E worked with a bankruptcy court to create a $105 million emergency housing fund to benefit survivors of the Camp Fire and the 2017 Northern California wildfires.
According to Moreno, The Wildfire Assistance Program targets uninsured people and those who need help with alternative living expenses.
PG&E will not oversee the distributions of the funds. A third party will be enlisted instead.
Professionals from this third party include an administrator, claims agents and accountants.

The third party could also partner up with area organizations to assist with the administration of the fund.
People with inadequate shelter will take priority in receiving assistance.
PG&E also emphasized in the press release that costs for this fund will not be passed on to customers and that only $5 million of the money set aside is meant for administration fees.
